An improvement on the original
design.
the cluster gear is fitted with a high-duty Torrington needle roller
bearing on either end. This does away with the common failure mode in
the race of the original style. The cluster is designed with the wider
top gear face as on the 1932 up gear. This makes it interchangeable
from 1915 thru 1936. The standard thrust washers are used at the ends
of this cluster gear the same as on an original gear. All gears and
shafts are made with the proper alloy steels and are properly heat-treated
to the appropriate depths. Gear teeth are professionally cut and properly
tooth rounded for easy shifting.
